Raichok, situated on the banks of the river Ganga, is an exotic tourist paradise in West Bengal. Raichok is a picturesque place having lots of natural treasures.
Why Raichok is suitable for a 3 day 2 night tour?
1. Raichok is located within 50 km. distance from Kolkata by road. You have to go by Diamond Harbour Road upto Sarisha , take a right turn,travel for15 km and you will reach your destiny. Alternatively private/CTC buses are available from Esplanade to Reichok.
2. Except from october to februery(Peak Season), Raichok is less crowded by tourists.
3. Hotels and lodges are quite a few. TouristResort Ridisson Ffort , which is situated on the bank of the river, is the most attractive place for staying but it is a five star hotel and dam costly. Some private lodges are also avilable which are suitable for your pocket and less expensive . In peak season, it is better to book hotels in advance.
4. On the opposite side, there is Kukrahut.You can go there by motorboat. From Kukrahut, you can go to Haldia by bus.
5. Fresh fishes from the river will be a delight to your tongue .
6. There is arrangement for boating in the river. But be careful, the river is just too big. It will be a ride to remember though.
